Not sure what YPAA is?
ITALYPAA stands for Italian Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous: an AA convention that moves to a new city every year and has one primary purpose, to carry the AA message.
What is ITALYPAAJune 15, 1969
Bill W., co-founder of AA, to the 12th International Conference of Young People in AA (ICYPAA), Philadelphia“…in recent years I have found nothing for greater inspiration than the knowledge that A.A. of tomorrow will be safe, and certainly magnificent, in the keeping of you who are the younger generation of A.A. today.”
A letter that explains why young people’s conventions exist in AA.
What you will find at ITALYPAA
Young in age and at heart
By “young” we mean everyone who is willing to grow. Anyone can get sober, recover and be a vital part of AA.
A bilingual convention
Meetings are held in Italian and English, with speakers from all over the world and simultaneous translation.
A different city every year
Since 2016 the convention has been to Milan, Vicenza, Bologna, Treviso, Verona and Assisi, carrying the message wherever it is invited.
From 2016 to today
All conventionsResponsibility Declaration
I am responsible. When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of A.A. always to be there. And for that: I am responsible.
Bring ITALYPAA to your city
Bids for the following year’s convention are presented by Bid Committees during the convention; the Advisory Committee chooses the new host city using the Third Legacy Procedure. If your area feels the desire to carry the message this way too, we are ready to help and support you with all the experience, strength and hope we have.
